Live streaming video games is an ever-changing landscape, with new games skyrocketing to the top only to be swiftly overtaken by another new game weeks later. Though incredibly popular andimpactful games likeMinecraftandFortnitewill remain near the top of the most watched games on platforms like Twitch, there are plenty of instances where games come out of nowhere and claimed the most viewed spot.
In recent days, that game isEscape from Tarkov. For those who may not know,Escape from Tarkovcould be described as a first-person survival MMO-like game with some elements of battle royale and PVP mixed in. Additionally, the game also has story and quest-based content to experience. One NPC in particular is an unlockable vendor named Jaeger, who has a series of helpful quests tied to him.

Prerequisites to Unlock Jaeger
To unlock Jaeger, players are going to need to do a few things in the world ofEscape from Tarkovfirst. Right off the bat, players are going to need to level up their PMC to level 10. Additionally, players will need to complete the ‘Gunsmith – Part 1’ quest. This quest can fairly easily be completed through another NPC called the Mechanic. Players will need to have three Elite Plier items to barter for the MP133 shotgun. Mod the shotgun to the specifications for the quest and it’s complete.
After finishing ‘Gunsmith – Part 1,’ another mission called ‘Introduction’ will be unlocked. This mission is the first step to unlocking Jaeger inEscape from Tarkov. The quest requires players to do a handful of things. First, players must find Jaeger’s camp on the ‘Woods’ map, collect his message, andextract from the map.
Unlocking Jaeger
So, now players are going to want to queue into a raid on the ‘Woods’ map. Unlike games likeFortniteorApex Legends, which received an overhaulduring 2019,Escape from Tarkovhas seven maps currently in the game. Once players are in the ‘Woods’ map, they’ll need to head towards a downed aircraft near the train station spawn location. Not too far away from the plane’s wreckage will be a small deer stand that looks like a small, raised hut.
The message from Jaeger will be underneath the deer stand on the ground. This message can be pretty hard to notice, but it should be an object that players can pick up. After that, players will need to survive the raid and extract successfully. Now that that’s finished, players simply need to take the message back to Mechanic, hand it over, and they will have unlocked Jaeger.
As mentioned before,Escape from Tarkovis currently dominating Twitch’s most viewed games list. However, the game is not just dominating Twitch, but is also seeing huge numbers on other streaming platforms like Mixer. While Twitch still has a firm grasp on the live streaming landscape, streaming platformslike Mixer and Facebook Gamingare slowly but surely building a solid foundation for themselves.
