World of Warcraftjust officially confirmed one of the most popular features fromDragonflightis sticking around. Though many fans expectedWorld of Warcraftto make it evergreen, players are overjoyed to know it is staying nonetheless.

Now,World of Warcraftfans can rest easy knowing Dragonriding is staying for good. Blizzard is currently working on ways to implement the dynamic flying system into other parts of the game, and intends on keeping it in future expansions. Full Dragonriding won’t be done in Patch 10.1.5, butWorld of Warcrafthopes to have it fully implementedbefore the end ofDragonflight.

That said, Patch 10.1.5 will have a first taste of global Dragonriding. One of theheadlining features forWorld of Warcraft’s10.1.5 updateis the Kalimdor Cup–a series of 16 new Dragonriding races across the zones of the eponymous continent. Like the races fromDragonflight, the Kalimdor Cup will have Normal, Advanced, and Reverse variations, and will have achievements and special rewards associated with it. Dragonriding will be available during these races, but will otherwise not be active on Kalimdor until the full system is implemented.

Blizzard is also already working on broadening the number of mounts that can use Dragonriding. Hundreds of normal flying mounts inWorld of Warcrafthave been given a new tag and animations that suggest they will be enabled for Dragonriding in the future. While most of these mounts have been drakes or other creatures that share skeletons with the currentDragonriding mounts inDragonflight,World of Warcraftwill hopefully enable the dynamic flying mode for other mounts like gryphons and wyverns.

Nearly everyWorld of Warcraftfan is excited for Dragonriding to come to the rest of the world, but there are still some players who prefer the old form of flying. Luckily,World of Warcraftdataminers have discovered abilities that suggest flying mounts will be able to toggle between normal flying and Dragonriding. Though the exact details won’t be known until Blizzard starts testing the system on the Public Test Realm, it seems likeWorld of Warcraftplayers will be able to soar the skies of Azerothand beyond in whatever manner they wish once Dragonriding fully leaves the Dragon Isles.

World of Warcraftis available now for PC.
