World of Warcraftis planning on adding new ways to get old gear sets in futureDragonflightupdates. Many iconicWorld of Warcraftgear sets collected from old raids and dungeons may become obtainable years after being removed from the game.
Over nearly 20 years of history, several ofWorld of Warcraft’smost iconic raids and dungeonshave been changed, adjusted, or removed completely. In doing so, some of the most recognizable gear from these instances can no longer be earned by anyone playing retailWorld of Warcraft, such as items from the original Naxxramas raid or Scholomance dungeon.

However, it seemsWorld of Warcraftis considering adding some of these iconic items back into the game in the future. During a European Content Creator Q&A session, popular EUWorld of WarcraftTwitchstreamer MrGM was able to get confirmation from game director Ion Hazzikostas that these cosmetic items have not been forgotten. WhileWoWhas no concrete details on when these items will return, or which ones will be added, Hazzikostas said that certain items, such as the Corrupted Ashbringer, will not return.
DragonflightPatch 10.0.7has already begun the process of reintroducing these iconic items toWorld of Warcraft. Dozens of new items using appearances from the original Zul’Gurub raid can be crafted by various professions. These new sets will be obtainable once Patch 10.0.7 goes live imminently after maintenance is finished.
Players don’t know by what means these iconic items will return, but they have a few guesses. It is likely they will end up being made through crafted recipes similar to the Zul’Gurub items, while others may instead appear onWorld of Warcraft’snew Trading Post feature. Until they are officially revealed or discovered on theWorld of WarcraftPublic Test Realm, players can only speculate on how they might acquire these items.
Nearly every player is excitedWorld of Warcraftis allowing them to collect these rare items again. While their exclusive nature may have been special for a time, few current players have these transmogs anymore, some of which have been gone fromWoWfor over 15 years. Reusing these rare and highly-desired assets is a sensible move forWorld of Warcraft.
