A couple of weeks ago, Vince McMahon was named in a new lawsuit, where he was accused of sex trafficking and sexually assaulting former WWE employee Janel Grant, among other crimes. The lawsuit, asreported by the Wall Street Journal, stated that McMahon shared explicit photos and video of Grant with an unnamed WWE Champion. It was also alleged that a sexual encounter with the plaintiff was part of the unnamed wrestler’s contract negotiations. Many believed that the lawsuit referred to Brock Lesnar, who was later pulled from this year’s Royal Rumble. Following the accusations,Lesnar was also removed from the mobile gameWWE SuperCard.
WWE further doubled down on stepping away from working with Lesnar as he’s also not part ofWWE 2K24’s 40 Years of WrestleManiacover anymore. Many fans noticed this in the latestWWE 2K24gameplay showcase, where the game’s three covers were shown towards the end. Instead of Lesnar posing on the left side, the 40 Years of WrestleMania cover now features John Cena.WWE 2K24also managed to change the cover on its official website, but fans can still find the old one featuring Lesnar on the PlayStation website.
Is Brock Lesnar Still in WWE 2K24?
The news of Lesnar’s removal from theWWE 2K24cover came as no surprise to many fans who are familiar with the Janel Grant lawsuit. However, Lesnar’s status in the game is still a mystery.WWE 2K24will officially be released on March 8, but fans can play three days early with the Deluxe and 40 Years of WrestleMania editions. Realistically, developer Visual Concepts might not have enough time to remove all traces of Lesnar given that it only has a month or less before the game launches, especially since it’s believed that he’s involved inWWE 2K24’s Showcase mode.
WWE 2K24might be in a tricky spot with Lesnar possibly still part of the roster, but it might not affect the game’s hype before launch. WWE and 2K have showcased exciting new matches andmany improvements inWWE 2K24, which made many fans excited to get their hands on the game.
