A returning mechanic fromBreath of the WildinThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis the use of Shrines to both challenge players and increase Link’s resources. By completing a Shrine, players earn Light of Blessing, which can be traded in multiples of four for Heart Containers or Stamina upgrades.

UnlikeBreath of the Wild, though, some of these shrines inTears of the Kingdomare actually found in the sky, far above the land of Hyrule. In fact, about one in every five Shrines in the game is found in the sky, including the Kadaunar Shrine. This shrine is unique forusing a Zonai Devicefound via one of the game’s Zonai Gacha machines outside for its main puzzle mechanic, but its solution might not be immediately obvious.

Where Is Kadaunar Shrine Located?

The Kadaunar Shrine is found on one of theSky Islands located above the southern areas of Eldin at coordinates (1883, 1202, 1251)between Lake Ferona and Pico Pond. The Sky Island Shrine isn’t easily accessed, though, as players have to figure out how to return to the Sky Islands first. In this case, it’s not as simple as using Recall on a falling rock, like accessing some Sky Islands. Instead, players will have to use a Skyview Tower.

The Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower(coordinates: 1879, 1202, 1251) nearby will launch Link high into the sky, which reveals the local area of Eldin, too. From the apex of the jump, start gliding to the east to an island that has several rails on it. By using minecarts, Zonai Devices, and a bit of creativity, players canmake their way across this chain of islandsuntil they finally reach an X-shaped one with a Zonai Device Dispenser, a launch pad aimed at another Sky Island, and Kadaunar Shrine.

Kadaunar Shrine Walkthrough – “Water Makes A Way”

Just outside Kadaunar ShrineLink will find a Zonai Device Dispenser, which givesa unique device called aHydrant. Trade in someZonai Chargefor a few of these and head into the Shrine. Immediately players will see that something’s different about this one: there’s lava flowing through the middle of the room. On the right-hand side of the room, there should be an enclosed hydrant emitting water onto a spot of hardened lava – this isa hint that to get across the lava river, Link must spray water on it.

Either with the Zonai Device in his inventory or with theconveniently-placed Hydrant nearby, Link canactivate the water flow by hitting the device. Pick it up after turning it on and aim at the lava river. Link can also fuse this device to his shield. Slowly but surely, hardened squares of lava – called Lava Slabs – will form, allowing Link to get across un-burned.

But don’t be too hasty to continue just yet, though. After crossing, players should seea Treasure Chest on a shelf to the left. It’s too high to jump to and located across a small pool of lava. To reach this chest, use Ultrahand to attachsquares of hardened lava to each other andform a bridge – three or four of them should be enough.

Lift this bridge up, rotate it to be diagonal, and drop it so Link can climb up the slope and collect the Treasure Chest. Inside, players should find aStrong Construct Bow, which can bea very powerful bowdepending on when Link opens it.

After opening the chest, walk back into the regular area to see alarge doorway blocked in by destructible boulders. To get past the boulder wall in Kadaunar Shrine,Fuse one of the Lava Slabsformed by the Hydrant’s water to an un-Fused weapon. This willcreate a heavier weapon that can smash through this barricade.

The final area of the dungeon isa flowing lava river that pushes Lava Slabsformed on it down a lava waterfall behind a bridge. Across the river is the end of the Shrine and the Light of Blessing. To get across this area, just attach more Lava Slabs to the end of the bridge Link already put togetherfor the Treasure Chest earlier. Players will need a few more than just three or four, though, so itcan be easier to assemble in the main roomwhere there’s more space.

Finally, take the lengthened bridge and drag it over the lava river to reach the other side and complete the Shrine. If Link drops the makeshift bridge or loses it, just use the Hydrant on the lava in the main room again, form more Lava Slabs, then create another bridge.
